Enhanced! Trend Tracker Report
 
The redesigned Trend Tracker reports comparing new, deleted and limited-time offer (LTO) items from the Jan-Mar 2012 period can now be found on MenuMonitor in the Publications Section.
 
The new Trend Tracker reports feature several enhancements. The reports are more dynamic and include the percentage of new items at the mealpart and category level. Menu trends and meal part inspirations are listed out with photo examples included. The trends and information can now also be found separated out by country for the US, Canada & UK.
 
Also available is the Trend Tracker Items List which details all the new, deleted and LTO items. The file is separated by meal part and can be sorted by classification, status, chain name, menu item and price.

New! Sandwich Menu Trend Report
The Sandwich Menu Trend Report is found in the Publications Section of MenuMonitor.

Sandwiches are the cornerstone of lunch and dinner menus at both limited- and full-service restaurants, and are offered more than any other entrée for each meal. Additionally, sandwiches are menued at limited-service restaurants more than any other entrée at breakfast. Consumers polled for Technomics 2012 Sandwich Consumer Trend Report say they are eating sandwiches more often and are sourcing more sandwiches away from home than they did two years ago.

 

The Sandwich Menu Trend Report uses Technomic’s most recent MenuMonitor data to track how sandwiches are being menued at the industry’s Top 500 limited-service restaurant (LSR) and full-service restaurant (FSR) chains. The report examines where sandwiches stand in comparison to all other entrées across dayparts and segments, comparing menu incidence between 2009 and 2011. The data also breaks down the leading sandwich varieties, ingredients and menu offerings.  Finally the report highlights Menu Trends in Action, a forward look at how operators are currently applying the latest flavor and preparation trends to sandwiches.
